The Door

thedoor-3

I rang the bell several times
I was expected right at three
Then stood there awaiting
When I noticed the key

The steps were of well laid brick
Set upon a sturdy land
I gave the bell another ring
The key now in my hand

The door was made of solid oak
And tho’ I knew it was a sin
I turned the key oh so slow
And then I went on in

E is for Energy

I’m writing to explain
And I want to make it plain
My enthusiasm is high
But my energy doesn’t remain

I always try to excel
Writing something to entertain
Examine each and every post
To make sure they aren’t mundane

I’m not going to exit WordPress
For that would bring me pain
But posting everyday
I am going to have to refrain

I still have ideas and blog posts drafted, but just need to limit my computer activity for now.   I am sorry I am also not going to be coming around to visit your blogs and leave a like and comment as often as I would like.  I will really miss that and will do my best.

  1. Keep thinking about you and hoping that you are okay and that your hectic life is settling. :)

  2. Like the poem and boy do I understand about giving yourself some space and not visiting around sites as much. It can sweep one up and be so time consuming. I had to go see an eye doctor because of eye strain from all the extra reading. I’m not kidding. I need to cut back also. ‘Nuf from me. Hi to you. :-) Paulette

    • Hi Paulette,
I do a lot of playing with the graphics programs and know it is way too intense for my eyes. I don’t have the concentration to read a book or long passage on the computer. I do go to an audio book site and I can listen and read at the same time. Then if I get tired I can close my eyes for a bit. I wish I had one of those Kindlely things to curl up with…..but I don’t.

I tried to cut back on WP a bit, but found I was still here. Habit I guess. It seemed harder to stay away for a couple of days and then try to catch up. And I find myself always making up some silly thing and am SURE there are a few just waiting and watching for my new post. lol
:) Thanks for your friendly chit chat. You seem a natural at that. I wish I were.

  3. I’m still very new to WordPress and blogging, with many ideas for articles to post, but I think I am already having to consider how to pace myself for the long term. Nice way to explain your thoughts with a poem. Oh, and I loved the little Einstein gif E=mc2. :)

    • Hi GrowlTigger.

I find myself spending just as much time in WP reading and trying to respond as I ever did. You think you can get out and come back in and take up where you left off. lol But you are right about pacing yourself so you don’t get warn out but still feel like you are becoming active with a group of loyal followers and ones that you really care to read. There is such a variety of interests and types of posters. I think one of the hardest things is trying to limit where I go.

Thanks for the comment and visit. :)

  8. Did the door shut behind?

  9. It’s a ****** when your energy runs out. I do hope you are okay and send you some chi across the ether . I’ll miss your chirpy comments and wish you well :)

  10. Hope you are ok and just slowing down, we all need that sometimes. Be well!

    • Sometimes it is just as hard to slow down. lol
Already feeling the stress of not preparing a post. :(

One of my concerns is/was that if I posted everyday, I felt obligated to go around the world and read and like or comment to all I followed each day. It was taking me hours to do that.
So I decided on fewer posts.

      • Fewer posts is alright, I find it hard to follow someone who posts everyday, as you say it is too much. So even once in a while is ok.Remember bloggin is supposed to be fun not to become a chore. Iif you post less I will continue to follow you and be happy to read your posts. Take care and have a good rest! Ute x

  11. Hope you are well. take care..

  12. whatever it is that is keeping you away I hope it ain’t ill health. Excel you do. I will miss you

  13. And excel you do.
I’ll keep coming back, no matter if it’s once a day or once a year: I still have lots of your old posts to catch up on :)

    • Thank you very much, Eddy. :)

You are lucky I write short pieces so it won’t take you long to catch up. lol
You wrote in your profile about leading a less hectic life. If you find out how to accomplish that……..let me know. Let us all know.
